Just keeping up with the blogs....so my birthday is tomorrow. Today we're having brunch with Jill and Mike and Dina to celebrate our March birthdays.
I have a 9 a.m. HRB appointment first....I hope they remembered to turn their clocks ahead, or I might be late for brunch! Have to remember to send cards/birthday greetings to Harper, the same birthday client, Gina, Mark, Gee Gee...and how about Debby Walther?

So it turns out Weebly, too, has had security issues (yahoo is making me crazy on windows 10...but then I haven't had a printer that acts like it belongs to the computer for months! ick ick ick...so annoying!)
I voted yesterday. Yay. Sadly, we don't have plans to see Jenn for her birthday this year...either in CA or in NJ...but we were very happy to have her with us this summer for awhile when she came out to bid adieu to Alex (whose birthday is coming up soon also!)
We are, instead, readying ourselves for the trip to Hot Springs (via Nashville) for Tom's 50th H.S. reunion. (We are so not ready at this point, but I'm sure it will be fine). Donna's version of Piscataway reunion was Saturday night and I didn't go, but was happy to see a few classmates while they were in the area for it. I see I am off the free upgraded weebly site comcast set me up with last year. Ah, well....... As long as I live, August will be most famous for August 8th being Sue's birthday. She is usually vacationing with her family around her birthday time. This year they were in Maine (with a dash of Boston and NYC ...Zoe went on to Copenhagen and Cody had to leave early to get back to work). That's what I hear and, of course, Sue sent me the traditional map postcard. <3
The summer is rushing away (although I heard it is going to be hot through November....). Happiness is being retired so I don't have to cry the whole last week of August about going back to school. Speaking of which, the constitutional amendment about our pensions is NOT going to be on the November ballot (after over a million dollars spent on the campaign and Sweeney PROMISING he would post it). The last minute lobbying and rallies proved fruitless. I don't know how long this interview with me in it will be available but here is is now.... http://www.fios1news.com/newjersey/teachers-rally-against-pension-plan#.V6t0L5grKM9 Upcoming events for us include a trip to Brooklyn for Juni's 2nd birthday and a trip to Hot Springs for Tom's 50th hs reunion (by way of Nashville!). I am in charge of the Seniors Book Club today, so I can't write a lot, but since May there is a lot of catching up to do.
After Myrtle Beach we went to the Fiftyish Reunion, which turned out great. Jennifer is a grandmother of a baby girl of Jassy's named Anayah. Lots of lunches and movies. We went to Nashville for the 2016 CMA Music Fest. Tom had torn meniscus knee surgery and is recovering nicely from that. (It really affected his experience in Nashville though). Friday I'm going to Piscataway for lunch with some old classmates including Gee Gee. Jambo is in July as always. I am very disappointed with the line up. Jennifer might be coming out to see Alex (and us) before the move to London forever. (I am so sorry I didn't see them more when they lived in America). This is threatening to be our worst weather week in Myrtle Beach ever, but maybe we'll be happily surprised otherwise....That being said, it is totally miserably wet driving down there right now.
It's 12:44 the night of March 24 or morning of 25 depending on how you look at it.
It's hard to believe March is so close to over. Easter is Sunday (and I am working 12-5 at HRBlock) Today I had eight DEAR friends for the luncheon at Dooney's, then went over on a non working day for like four hours to the office. Yesterday I spent a lot of extra time there, too. I took pictures of Chris's family when they missed their professional appointment. I've been doing a lot of offtime hours at the office, but it's all good. My AZ shutterfly photo book came so fast! I love it. The alumni disk isn't going to come in time for much help in getting more people. I am very disappointed with them, but I look forward to getting my pens. I'd better get going on the other things I said I'd prepare for the reunion (which is in less than two months!!! OMG!) I haven't been very good about followup/contacting the people who are coming and the people who were maybes. Tom got his replacement phone back today and spent all night working on getting it to a way he likes it. It was sad when his phone stopped working while we were on vacation. Dina is coming on Wednesday to have me do her taxes. :-) Gail is coming too. In fact, that's my busiest day ever. Wish me luck! Okay, so now it is going on the last week of February and even though there is an extra day in it this year, it still went really fast.
I have been spending many hours at HR Block during peak but peak has wound down and I set a DEAR lunch for a week from Monday. At least of five of our group are in FL or HI enjoying the sunshine. Lucky them! We will be in AZ in like two weeks. Hard to believe. That means that the upcoming May reunion is in three months. Oh, my!....and still no disk from the alumni people for us to get in touch with more people. We have a meeting coming up. I guess I'd better get some stuff together. I have off for a few days and hope to enjoy all of them!
Yesterday was the first in a series presented by the Burlington County Sheriff's Dept. I am so glad that I went. I learned CPR (press hard and fast!) and found former Delran student, Stacy Martella,'s mother in the packed crowd. I am going to try and arrange to be able to attend the next five Thursday sessions as well. The day was also notable for haircut and dancing at Prospectors. Today the Human Services Building is closed, so my SHIP commitment of two hours in person counseling is turning into a phone call instead. I have dancing on the aganda for tonight, too. Saturday I am looking forward to seeing long time friend Marc Beemer in NYC. He lives in CA now, not Oregon, and is out here for work for a week or two. Too bad it is the coldest weather ever! but I plan to dress warmly and it should be fine. Sunday I work, actually. Happy Valentine's Day! People should be getting their w-2's and we are anticipating a big peak starting soon. The $1000 a day for 1000 people is a great promotion; I just wish someone from our office would win...and soon!
I'll be working a lot more hours and every day is tied up with something from now through late February. |
