I'm coming across this now as I try to gather all my websites to one place (listed on the blog)
It looks like not a lot of status quo needs to be revised since 2024! Jenn is now coming out again in January. I'm still all those things (had I mentioned being secretary for and a member of the Friends of the Burlington County Library Board? I am that. The 60ish reunion is set for next September 26th. We've advertised on Facebook and I updated the webpage piscatawayreunion.homestead.com but we are far from having a full quota of attendees at this time. Tom is very sick -mentally and physically- since his fall down the basement steps February 2025. He did beat cancer after immunotherapy treatments and after losing well over 100 pounds he doesn't seem to have diabetes anymore. There were complications when he had his gall bladder removed and those issues have not yet been resolved. He's had a lot of stays at hospitals and rehabs and many a trip to the ER.

I had to close down the Sigma weebly page since the chapter no longer exists and now I am updating this one. So many things have changed and some haven't changed at all.
Big things are Tom is sick and has dialysis three early mornings a week and immunotherapy on another day once a week for two out of three weeks. I drive him. I am Membership Chairperson for BCREA now too (and I love all the access!). No more Sigma. No more Contact. HR Block is still in the picture, so far anyway. We eat out a lot!! I don't sleep much; Tom sleeps a lot. Toni is BCREA President. Cody got married. Caitlin has two children- Mason and Cameron, neither of whom we have seen in person. Jennifer had practically a heart attack and scared us all. Beej lives in Atlanta by Roxanne and her two children. Samantha and Bradley are both divorced. 2024 was most likely our last CMA Music Fest. I am the secretary for and member of the Friends of the Burlington County Library. I haven't seen Gee Gee in months! We may be having another Class of 67 (and other years) reunion the spring of 2026. (That seems so far away!) Jennifer is planning to come out and visit. Her birthday is Oct. 3 (today is Oct. 1st) and she is in her second year of Medicare! (my baby sister!) Sue and Patrick are very happy and active grandparents (although he has Covid currently). I speculated on the Juliet musical for Halloween for the 8 p.m. show. I hope Tom will go with me and that we end up going. I have Dolly on tap for the November Funny Girl and hopefully Tom for the three days later BCEA Bus trip to NY for the Rockefeller Center show. (Did I mention we saw Harry Potter and Aladdin while we were staying in NYC the end of August?) Meanwhile, Tom continues with shingles and I don't have skin cancer (not that I thought I did, but I went for an overall body skin check with a new dermatologist. (Good thing I left early because finding her was not fun!) I am sorry I ate two pounds (gained!) worth of candy corn and cheese and no dancing in the last week. This week I took pictures with Stacy at the NJREA Fall luncheon and Gee Gee at Zinna's (first lunch since April! due to her car taking five months to repair after her accident). That went fast!
Actually the season is through April 17th. My originally scheduled commitment ends Friday the 13th. I might have to consider adding hours in, but I would be content to stop now! Hannah's baby, Samuel, got through his heart surgery successfully at the children's hospital in Delaware. I saw him/them once with Tom and he has been back twice since and saw Amy and met Seth's parents. We are going to Myrtle Beach in May and right around then our CMA tickets should arrive. Maybe spring will get here too, but that remains doubtful. What a winter! I'm on duty at Contact (2nd time in as many days). Today I have off from HRB and am trying to get my hours in for Contact.
So tax season is going slowly but I guess it will be picking up soon. So far I have done 3 EZ returns for pittance. We have to work at High St. sometimes now. I made so little my first Jan. pay, they didn't take out any federal withholding (so I put in an amount to be held out.) Tom and I went to the movies (The Commuter) instead of dancing last night (Tom's idea). We saw two on Tuesday (Greatest Show on Earth and The Shape of Water). The manager recommended we get MoviePass so we both signed up (10 a month each, unlimited movies....sounds like a cost saver at the rate we've been paying 7-9 dollars each like 4 times a month, right? We'll see.... So our Las Vegas vacation positives outweighed the fact that we were sick the whole time we were there. Seeing Sue and Jenn and Patrick was great. Seeing Stephanie was great. We saw Jumanji which was really good. We were away from the bad, freezing NJ weather.
We got home tired only to hear that my car had been noticeably entered and disarrayed. The call was from an Eastampton policeman Thursday evening (we heard it upon our return Friday evening). He is not available to talk to about it until Monday night. (!) and no one else knows about the incident apparantly. What it sounds like is the car must have been unlocked (?!!) and someone went in the car and went through my glove compartment and threw items out of the arm storage area onto the drivers seat. I have no idea if anything was taken, but there were still loose coins left around. Checking the trunk, I was able to find my gps in the gym bag and nothing there looked touched except the scrabble board was upside down...and might have been that way already...who knows. The Contact bingo was cancelled so that didn't figure in to the decision. I touched base with my Rec Committee pre Lighting of the Tree ceremony, bringing them cookies and throwing hot chocolate powder into the big urn. Then I grabbed Marion and headed to Bruce's Moorestown Community Band's Winter Concert.
Good choice. It was fabulous! Wow....December 2017 is FridayTom is out playing golf today and I had lunch with Gee Gee which is always a good time.
Tom's health is ragged, as usual, but he doesn't let it stop him. Ever. I, on the other hand, developed a mysterious, ugly, and annoying swollen and red left eyelid immediately following an eye doctor appointment involving the dreaded field of vision test. Hmm.... I have an eye appointment with Dr. Cohen on Friday. Will he be able to explain the curious timing of my eye ailment in conjunction (no pun intended) to the visit to his office last week? Will the antibiotic I've been taking have it cleared up soon? We shall see. So it's a good thing my pre season time at HR Block is over now, because I have a lot of holiday things coming up starting with Friday and the DKG Tea in Riverton. Too bad three events are all scheduled for Fri. Dec. 8th . BCEA holiday social, a concert, DEAR lunch, Seniors Xmas party, flying to AR for Mary Grace's wedding, back the day after Christmas, no plans for New Years Eve, flying to Las Vegas Jan. 5-12 (and enjoying the company of Jenn, Sue, and Patrick for the first few days of our vacation) and then back in time for Tax Season 2017 to be underway and the new year...2018. I don't get enough sleep, I need to clear my house of extraneous materials, Tom and I both need to eat a more healthy diet and exercise more. Yes, you are hearing some New Year's resolutions. It will be happening August 21, and we are going to be in S. Carolina (a really good place to be for viewing it) at the time. Whoo hoo!
And, coincidentally, while at Prospectors last night, I managed to acquire the special eclipse viewing glasses, so we are all set! :-) |
